E-mail Updates
Directions for e-mail download updates.
Getting started
If you are trying to run an update for the first time, you must first download and install the setup utility. The program can be found here. When installing the program, it is recommended to leave all of the default settings.
Downloading updates
1. You will receive an e-mail when there have been any changes in the markets you have requested to receive.
2. There are two types of download methods.
A. The most common and most fool-proof method is by FTP. This is the method that every location will be set up with by default. With this method, the e-mail notice will contain an attachment called MULTICO.MCU that you can double click and open.

a) The attachment is an ID code that goes online to our server to check to see what new files have been uploaded since the last time your agency has updated and downloads all the new files it finds.
b) The files will be downloaded directly into a MULT4WIN\DISKIMG directory that is usually on your server. This allows all workstations connected to that server to update from the downloaded files.
c) Once the download is complete the MULTICO Update program will automatically run to expand the downloaded files.
Requirements
One machine in the office must be able to access the internet.
Benefits
Some agents prefer to save the MULTICO.MCU file to the desktop. That way you can open the MULTICO.MCU on your desktop to check for downloads.
You still need to notify us if you change your e-mail address and need to notify us if you are not receiving the e-mail update notices. We do send e-mail notes and messages at times as notification rather than for downloads.
B. The other method is required to get through certain firewalls. It requires more interaction and therefore is not as fool-proof, and is not preferred. An agency will only be changed to this method when we determine that the first method will not work.
a) With this method the e-mail will not contain an attachment. Instead, there is a link at the bottom of the e-mail that you can click on which logs you into your account on our server.

b) On the site you will see a section that says My Download. Clicking on the link "Here" will create a self-extracting zip called MULTICO.EXE that you will need to download.

c) Because of the reasons that you are using this download method you will need to download MULTICO.EXE to your machine rather than running it from the web.
d) You can download this file anywhere but we suggest to your desktop or anywhere that is easy to get to.

e) Once the file is downloaded you will need to open the file and select Setup. This will will complete the update.

f) With the self-extracting zip method you will need to download and run a new MULTICO.EXE every time. If you do not remember where you downloaded MULTICO.EXE or deleted it without running the setup you can go back through the e-mail link and go under "Click Here to retrieve your previous update" and download the previous MULTICO.EXE again.
