Prime 2000/MULTICO Integration
This bridge supports a two-way integration between Prime 2000 (Prime) and MULTICO for Windows (MULTICO). The user can export a policy from Prime to MULTICO and/or export a quote from MULTICO to Prime. Prime 2000 software version 2.0 or higher is required.
Required Personalization
Every personal computer doing rating integration with MULTICO must have an “MULTRATE” directory off the root of its “C:\” drive. This folder must be manually created prior to exporting from Prime. MULTICO will automatically create the C:\MULTRATE directory (if it does not exist) when the user chooses to export a quote to Prime. When exporting a policy out of Prime, a file named “DOWNLD0.AL3” will be created and transferred to “C:\MULTRATE”. When exporting a quote out of MULTICO, a file named “DOWNLD.AL3” will be created and transferred to “C:\MULTRATE”.
Rating Company Setup – The following screen (off of Tools – Rating – Setup) needs to be personalized in Prime 2000 for MULTICO.
| Description |
MULTICO |
| *Program Name |
C:\MULT4WIN\Import.exe C:\MULTRATE\DOWNLD0.AL3 |
| File Path |
C:\MULTRATE\ |
| File Name |
DOWNLD* |
| Other Parameters |
*Designate the drive—which can be local (as illustrated above) or network—where rating (MULT4WIN\Import.exe) resides. For example, if rating resides on your K drive, then the “Program Name” should be personalized with “K:\MULT4WIN\Import.exe C:\MULTRATE\DOWNLD0.AL3”. The drive for “MULTRATE\DOWNLD0.AL3” will always be “C”. A space exists between “C:\MULT4WIN\Import.exe” and “C:\MULTRATE\DOWNLD0.AL3”.

The “AMS Prime” bridge in MULTICO must be activated in order to integrate MULTICO with Prime. To activate the bridge, open MULTICO Utilities. From the “Tools” menu, choose “Integration Setup”, select (highlight) the “AMS Prime” program and then check the “Active” box to activate the bridge.
Workflow - MULTICO to Prime
The following workflow is for the integration between MULTICO and Prime.
1. Rate the policy in MULTICO.
2. Select the applicable Company quote from the Comparison Chart that you want to transfer to Prime.
3. From the “Company Specific Quote” screen, click File then Export.
4. The “Export to” window appears. Double click AMS Prime or highlight it and click Ok.
5. MULTICO exports the quote – DOWNLD.AL3 to the C:\MULTRATE directory and then launches Prime (GoPrime.exe), which imports the quote for processing. Please refer to the Prime online help for processing options.
Note: The workflow for Prime prior to version 3.0 requires the user to manually access Prime and initiate the import by the following steps:
1. Access Prime
2. Click “Tools” and select “Rating Integration” option.
3. “AMS Prime Download” will initiate, importing the quote. Process the quote record in Prime. MULTICO currently cannot increment quote file names. Therefore, after each quote is transferred it must be imported into Prime to prevent it from being overlaid. Please refer to the Prime online help for processing options.
Workflow - Prime to MULTICO
The following workflow is for the integration between Prime and MULTICO.
1. From the Contact “Policy List”, right click (right-handed mouse) the policy to export to MULTICO.
2. Click the “Send to Rating” option. If more than one option exists, choose “MULTICO” from the Rating Company options window.
3. Prime will create a record named “DOWNLD0.AL3”, transfer it to the C:\MULTRATE directory and then launch MULTICO.
4. The “Select MULTICO Program” window appears. Choose the applicable program: Auto or Homeowners and then click OK to continue the import process.
5. MULTICO imports the policy record exported from Prime and then deletes it from C:\MULTRATE.
6. Rate policy in MULTICO. For assistance, please refer to the online rating instructions provided by MULTICO or contact MULTICO Customer Support.
Integration Information
Drivers established in Prime with a Driver Status of Unlicensed, Deferred, Excluded or Non-rated export to MULTICO, but do not display in a MULTICO Auto quote. These drivers will be included in the record exported back to Prime to prevent them from being deleted by the quote. Unlicensed drivers will display in a MULTICO Auto quote with the “Licensing” field designated with “Not licensed”, but the “Operator Type” will show “Principal” and the “Date Licensed” and “In State” will default with the month/year of the policy effective date and be grayed out. MULTICO does not support drivers less than 14 years of age.
Because there are no ACORD Codes for Passive Restraint and Anti-Lock Brake, the codes used by Prime and MULTICO may not match. Always verify Passive Restraint and / or Anti-Lock Brake after any integration.
