Integration Instructions for Applied Systems and Vision

Setup instructions for Applied Systems or Vision Bridge

Windows TAM with Windows 95 or Later

  1. Verify that the WINRATE.EXE file in the WINTAM directory is dated at least 2-1-96. If not, contact Applied Systems to get a newer version of this file.
  2. Before editing the following files, make sure that everyone is out of TAM.
  3. Edit the TAMGLOB.INI file in the TAM_EXE directory. To edit the file, use the “edit” command at the DOS prompt or the Notepad program in Windows. Make sure the following lines are in the [ENV] section of the file:

    RA=C:\MULT4WIN\AUTO4W95.BAT
    RH=C:\MULT4WIN\HOME4W95.BAT

    If your MULTICO directory is not C:\MULT4WIN, change C:\MULT4WIN in the commands above to the appropriate directory.
  4. Edit the WINTAM.INI file in the WINDOWS directory on each workstation. Make sure the following lines are in the [TamShell] section of the file:

    UseInitialTable=1
    IgnoreDOSEnvironment=1
    InitialTablePath=F:\TAM_EXE

    If TAM is not installed on the F: drive, change F: in the command above to the appropriate drive.
  5. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file in the root directory on each workstation. The TEMP environment variable must be set in the file.

    For example:
    set TEMP=C:\TEMP
    For NT style platforms such as 2000 and XP the Temp directory will have to be changed in the Environment Variables to a short file name such as C:\TEMP or C:\WINDOWS\TEMP.

    Include the DOS directory in the path.
    For example:
    PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\
  6. Reboot the computer.
  7. In MULTICO Utilities, choose Integration Setup from the Tools menu, set the Applied Systems status to active, and set the appropriate drive for the AS_TEMP directory.
  8. From Applied Systems, start a quote and if necessary, select the MULTICO program you want to quote in.
  9. In the MULTICO program, if the import does not open automatically, cancel any open dialogs and click on the “Import File” button on the tool bar.
  10. When you are finished with the quote in MULTICO, export the file back to Applied Systems and switch to the DOSSPAWN window to finish the quoting process.
